TEMPO PAVILION

“Tempo Pavilion” situated under the National Highway 1 and was just one street parallel on the north side of the airport runway. Due to the strict height restrictions with respect to construction around airports and the serious noise issue, this street is occupied by loud automobile repair shops. Rather than pedestrian friendly, the main “users” of this street are actually automobiles.
The idea came from percussion instruments. Elements from xylophones combined with a simple kinetic mechanism together created an instrument that interacted with cars those roared by. This piece intended to reverse the current situation, and created a liner playful park that makes the pedestrians and the environment coexist in harmony.
